On The Taper

Tonight I went out for a 6K recovery run, and began to have a little bit of tapering anxiousness. Reading all of these race reports makes me want to just get out there and race! It didn't help that it was a nice cool evening, and I just felt like taking off. I have a 10K tempo on tap tomorrow though, so I held off.
Training Plan
Mon-rest
Tues- 6K recovery
Wednesday -10K tempo
Thursday - rest
Friday - rest
Saturday- 12K race pace
Sunday - 6K recovery

Also, I would like to introduce Christy from Run Like a Girl. Christy is training for her first full marathon (Disney 2008), and I also know her in real life from Bootcamp class and she is a super person and runner! Drop by her site and wish her a warm welcome!

Thanks for reading!

Sounds like you made the right choice to hold off. You have better will power then I do. I tend to give in to the urge if I'm feeling good and it's great weather outside.

I am jealous of anyone running a Disney race! Enjoy the taper madness!

The taper is hard at times. Keep working. Your race will be soon!

I feel just the opposite of you today. I am counting down the weeks (2 more to go!) until the taper. Running every day is really catching up to me and I just feel beat up this week!

You need to save the race reports to read right before your race if they motivate you like that! Have a great tempo run.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I definitely hear you about being ready for a race. I'm in taper time right now too and reading about the race reports makes me wish the City of Oaks Marathon would get here already.

I'll be running Disney too so I'll be sure to stop by your friends blog and say hello. Have a good week, looks like you have a great plan set out.
