A little Marathon Inspiration

There are alot of bloggers out there that are running a marathon over the next few weeks. It is like an epidemic. I couldn't help but wonder, what keeps us coming back? We are militant in our training, and running spills into so many aspects of our lives. We run, we blog about running, and lets be honest, we dream about running. What keeps us coming back?
I found this video filmed during last year's ScotiaBank Waterfront Marathon (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), and I found my answer, yet I still can't put it in words. Watch the video, and you'll know what I mean.

Each event is special, but the essence of a marathon is there. I know you all understand. There are a few of us bloggers running this event. Its Marlene's first marathon, and I know Lily is running the half as well. Hopefully we can meet up for a post run celebration. Its still either the half or full for me, but I'll be there!

Looks great I am sure you'll be kicking butt!

To answer you reader question it's an online or local application that aggregates your RSS subscribed feeds into one format so it save you from having to visit each blog individually. I use NewsGator and Google reader, they're both free and easy to learn it just takes a bit of time to build up you collection...hope that helps

Marathons *are* an epidemic these days!! There are so many people running marathons these days it's like no big deal. But the thing is, running 26.2 miles ain't easy!! I don't know why I keep doing it... but I look forward to the next one!

The scotiaBank Waterfront marathon looks amazingly fun! Wow. I love those spectators! They are awesome cheerleaders. I swear, the crowd can carry me for 10 miles! Wow, watching the runners crossing the finish line at the end brought tears to my eyes!

That's why I do it.

Damn, those elite runners make running a marathon so easy!

Great post!!!! I'm totally inspired now. :-)

Can't watch the video here, but will check it out later. I hear the T.O. Waterfront Marathon is a great race - I'm not sure my body will ever let me run one, but if I ever do it will be this one!

Thanks for sharing! It looks like a fun race.

I did send off for the pinkalicious-sunkist! I will post a picture of it when it arrives. I don't believe the orange color is as dark as the online photo shows so don't look at that one too closely.

Loved the clip! The clip had THREE shots of my running hero, Ed Whitlock; the very first shot, then in the middle, and near the last when he broke through the tape! He's an inspiration!!
