Before the race
Transition stuff
Coming out of the water (although it looks like I am celebrating, I am really wrestling with my wetsuit!)
Leaving T1 all suited up. I omitted the less than flattering pics of me wrestling with my wetsuit!
Near the end of the bike
The Run (very hot -full Sun uphill!)
Thanks Hubs for taking these pictures!
I am really looking forward to my next one, and I am eyeing up a few more sprint distances and possibly a half iron man on Sept 13th. So, I need a training plan that will allow for both marathon (St. George Oct 3rd) and half iron training (Sept 13th). I have decided to use the 12week/55 mile per week Pfitz plan again. I liked it in preparation for the Shamrock marathon, and I think if I hadn't gotten sick, I would have ran a PR marathon. But I think this plan will be "Pfitz with a twist", since I need to be flexible. I am going to take the training week-by-week and really listen to my body. I may have to rearrange the run distances, but I will try my best to get everything in. Here is the plan for week 1 (this week July 12th -18th)
Monday
-cycling (off road Fly Gurlz)
-15-20 kms
Tuesday
-2km distance swim
-8 mile run w/ 10 x 100m stride
Wednesday
am-16K cycle (easy)
pm-track core workout (3 mile run- recovery)
Thursday
-am - 1km swim time trial with Nachos
-pm - 16.3K bike/3km BRICK time trial with Nachos
Friday
-off
Saturday
-60K cycle/8 mile run -general aerobic
Sunday
-13 mile run
Totals
Swim - 3K
Bike- 110K
Run -33 miles
I am a little worried about the Sat/Sun back to back days, but the group cycle is Sat am, and I planned a rest day Friday. If this doesn't work, I will switch up my long run next week.
Did I mention I am also trying to lose 15+ pounds?! I need to devise a fueling plan as well!
Hope you are enjoying your week. Thanks for reading!

great pics!! I cannot wait for my first one :D Which one are you doing Sept 13th? I think you told me one time, but I can't remember.
i love the pictures!!!!! lol- wrestling with the wet suit. well it says something if you are looking forward to the next one! i'm pretty sure i'd be congratulating myself on getting through it and being relieved it was over, lol.
Congrats!!!!! Great pics. I can't wait to experience my first du. (I don't swim!)
You've got some ambitious goals - I'm sure you will do awesome!
Love the pics too. Looks like a lot of fun.
Great pics!
LOVE your pic's, you look awesome, and yes, I'm in (next year), we will tri together for sure!
I'm with you on the weight loss, we will work on that together too! (this year) LOL
Gotta have goals, and you have some good ones.
Thanks for sharing your pictures! Looks like a good time. ;)
Looks like a hard core plan - can't wait to see how it works out!
Those pictures are great! :) I am still so scared of tris. I don't mix well with water. ha ha
Love the photos!
Great goals/plans too.
Woot!
If you come up w/ a plan to lose 15 pounds, I'll do it with you!!
Awesome pics!
And as if pfitz wasn't hard enough on it's own, you're adding 2 more sports - those 15# should melt right off.
Hmmm... this could be the mentality that landed me these additional 10# out of nowhere.
Congrats! Love the pics. Sounds like you are really loving it.
That is some major training. Very impressed, Pfitz with a big twist.
Great race pics! I'm wanting to do a tri this summer/fall, and those get me really excited.
love the pics! jumping for a half iron already - get it girl! well, seems like a jump to me, maybe it's considered normal in the tri-world. :)
Great pics! Man all this tri-ing going on in blog land is getting a bit too inspiring!
Great job and pics!
I did a du once, and that was tough, I can't imagine how hard the swim portion must be.
Love the pics!
Sounds like an intense plan. You'll be one busy lady, but you can do it! Looking forward to hearing how it goes.
I'd love to lose 15+ lbs as well... any advice? Haha.
But why does the one transition area only allow 30-39 women to enter? Can't they decide on an exact number?
Just kidding. I need some sleep.
Great pictures.
Fun times!
Be careful about 'dieting' and working out as much as you are.
What HIM are you thinking about?
great pics :) I am tempted to do a half Im, but I shoudl probably wiat and see hoe my 1st Sprint Tri goes! lol I LOVE Pfitz 12/55 plan!!! excellent choice, just make sure you make it work for you so that you can stick to it! Good Luck :)
Great pictures!
oh love the pictures!! i love great race pictures!
good luck with developing a nutrition plan. I know it really did wonders for me.
On the Green Monsters I usually drink one in the morning around 7:30 or 8 and then about 9:30 or 10 have an energy bar (yeah Heart Thrive!) or oatmeal. Some folks put PB or more protein in their GM and just make it a meal...but I'm a snacker!
You look great on those pics, no need to lose 15lbs. You are training, you're supposed to gain weight, not lose it!!!
Great pics!!!
Great pictures! And I'm tired just reading about your workout schedule!
Great pics! I think you should go with the celebratory caption on that coming out of the water pic -- it definitely looks like you are happy to be done with the swim :-)
awesome pics!!! yay for pfitz :) i like twisting his plans around this time.
Great, great pics! I am so impressed with the whole Tri thing and when I hear about struggles with a wetsuit, it makes me all that more sure it will not be in my future.
Best of luck with your training.
Great photos and some very ambitious goals indeed!
Fun pictures. A half ironman you go!
