Weekend Reading

The two running books I ordered arrived in the mail yesterday just in time to do some weekend reading.

This means training plans and marathon plans are coming soon, I just need to put it all together. I started with the Advanced marathoning book last night and I can't put it down. Its packed full of great information.

On the workout front, haven't run much this past week. Still have the tailend of the cold I caught a few weeks back. But I am going to run today, and have a 30K planned for Sunday morning with Christy. Should be fun!

I haven't totalled my HBB challenge points, but I have a feeling its not great but this week will be better, I hope. Oh and have I mentioned I have bought 0 Christmas gifts? I am not worried though, I have a list and as long as I have a few hours sometime in the next week, it will all come together.

Good luck to Laura and D10 tomorrow!

Hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks for reading!

  3. Oh you'll have to give us reviews on the books. They sound good! I've done all of my shopping online but I kind of miss going into the stores and feeling the holiday spirit!

  5. HI Marci

I have Advanced Marathoning and it is a pretty cool book with some great technical training advice. It is also a little too serious and some of the stuff made me laugh a little bit. One of their ideas is that you pretty much have to sacrifice everything if you are going to become a "competitive runner". It is still a great read and mine is dog eared and highlighted.

Best of luck with your running.

  7. I'm so glad I don't have to shop this year. Only had to buy for my nephews...I can't stand Christmas shopping! Oh, but I obviously don't mind shopping for myself...spent a ton at Loft the other day.

  12. The book, "Advanced Marathoning" is my running Bible and have used it extensively for my own marathon training! You'll find many coaches/teachers/runners will reference this book in their own training schedules as well.
